Why do I loose channels like ITV, Channel 4 and Five on my digital TV or Freeview Set Top Box?

If you have channels where the picture breaks up into little squares (mosaics or pixilation) and the sound stops and starts missing parts of the dialog you have almost certainly got an aerial / incoming signal reception problem. From the Winter Hill transmitter these channels are transmitted on some of the highest frequencies and are more susceptible to signal loss and interferrence. The transmission standard for some channels is also not as robust as that used for others. In extreme circumstances the channel may be missing altogether. An aerial upgrade or cable replacement are likely fixes for this problem.
